About

My name is Jessie Benash. I am a wife, a mom of two kids, and a child therapist. This blog is the journey of how God chose to allow me live  because he had a bigger plan for me. My hope is that people will follow this journey I am being led on and that it shows how faith, family, friends, hope, never giving up and love can get you through anything. Life is not easy and there are many ups in downs but it doesn’t mean that you have to stop fighting and living. There are so many people living with disabilities and other difficulties in their lives and together we can all make a positive change.

It was the last day if my sophomore year of high school. I was so excited to be done with school for the year and was feeling on top of the world. Little did I know that this day was going to change my life forever. I was 15 years old I got in a really bad motorcycle accident that severely damaged my foot. I fought through surgeries and infections to keep my foot for 19 years.

In 2013, at 34 years old , I became a left below the knee amputee. This was supposed to make my quality of life better. Unfortunately I had a poor outcome has caused me to become more disabled than I was before the surgery. I’ve had to have additional surgeries, not been able to walk for a long period of time. I am continually learning how to live life through different lenses.
